Revival of Yu-Gi-Oh! 2: A Hacker Community Dueling Network Tournament! (9/2/12)

Post  HitoshirezuJamal on Tue Aug 28, 2012 3:33 am

- Sets are best of 3, and Winners'/Losers'/Grand Finals sets are Best of 5. The winner of Losers' Finals must beat the winner of Winners' Finals in 2 consecutive sets, while the latter only has to win once.
- Double elimination bracket.
- All sets must be hosted in either Advanced (Rated) or Advanced (Unrated).
- Deck switching (the act of switching decks during a tournament) is banned. You may only use one deck.
- 40 to 60 cards a deck.
- Don't be a **** or you're DQed from the tournament.

NOTE: The official Ban List will be released on September 1st, so we'll have to wait for the day of the tournament to see what it is.

SIGN-UP PAGE: http://challonge.com/tournaments/signup/tmz4i5agwn

You MUST sign up if you want to be in the bracket. If you're signing up as a name that you're not known by, be sure to put the name of your most-known alias in parentheses.

EXAMPLE: Master of the Lucksack (Ty)

NOTE: Do not ask for a time for this tournament. I'll figure it out when I get there.

I'm not sure if this counts as double post (sorry if it does) but I also wanted to say that DN was updated if anyone didn't know. They have more things now than Rated and Unrated like Best out of 3, unlimited (no restrictions whatsoever), etc. I'd say Adv. Unrated 2 out of 3 would be good for us.

Sunday is feasible. I'll change the tournament to that date, then. That'll give people some time to complain about adjust to the new ban list as well.

Honestly, no one is really gonna complain except for Inzekter users (which I was the only one in the community) and Chaos Dragon users. They were hit the worst out of the top tier decks... although Chaos Dragons are still good. Inzekters on the other hand... Good luck. XD

UPDATES ON THE TOURNAMENT!

Post  HitoshirezuJamal on Thu Sep 06, 2012 11:17 am

Since the tournament is not actually over yet, I figured I'd list what has happened within the bracket thus far.

Denzel - Lost to Tim 0-2 (Winners'), defeated SSM 2-0 (Losers'), defeated Ink 2-1 (Losers'), lost to Jamal 1-2 (Losers'). He placed 5th.

Ensane - Defeated Sasab 2-0 (Winners'), defeated Jamal 2-0 (Winners'), defeated Tim 3-0 (Winners'). He is guaranteed at least 2nd.

Tyson - DQed against Jamal (Winners'), lost to Sasab 1-2 (Losers'). He placed 7th.

Ty - Defeated Ink 2-0 (Winners'), lost to Tim 1-2 (Winners'), lost to Sasab 1-2 (Losers'). He placed 5th.

Ink - Lost to Ty 0-2 (Winners'), defeated CITADEL 2-1 (there was an issue Game 3 where CITADEL was D/Ced before the match could be finished proper, but it was agreed upon by both players that Ink should advance, as they determined that he would have won the game, and by extension, the set, had that not happened) (Losers'), lost to Denzel 1-2 (Losers'). He placed 7th.

Jamal - Defeated CITADEL 2-1 (Winners'), advanced against Tyson due to him being DQed (Winners'), lost to Ensane 0-2 (Winners'), defeated Denzel 2-1 (Losers'). He is guaranteed at least 4th and his set vs. Sasab has yet to be played out.

Sasab - Advanced against SSM due to him being DQed (Winners'), lost to Ensane 0-2 (Winners'), advanced against Poyo due to him forfeiting (Losers'), defeated Tyson 2-1 (Losers'), defeated Ty 2-1 (Losers'). He is guaranteed at least 4th and his set vs. Jamal has yet to be played out.

Tim - Defeated Poyo 2-0 (Winners'), defeated Denzel 2-0 (Winners'), defeated Ty 2-1 (Winners'), lost to Ensane 0-3 (Winners'). He is guaranteed at least 3rd.

Poyo (taking Daniel's place) - Lost to Tim 0-2 (Winners'), forfeited to Sasab (Losers'). He placed 9th.

SSM - DQed against Sasab (Winners'), lost to Denzel (Losers'). He placed 9th.

CITADEL - Lost to Jamal 1-2 (Winners'), lost to Ink 1-2 (there was an issue Game 3 where CITADEL was D/Ced before the match could be finished proper, but it was agreed upon by both players that Ink should advance, as they determined that he would have won the game, and by extension, the set, had that not happened) (Losers'). He placed 9th.

What Ty said; you were one of 3 people to place 9th (which is last), the other 2 being Poyo (who forfeited in Losers') and CITADEL.

Sasab beats Tim 3-0 in Losers' Finals! He will be facing Ensane in Grand Finals! (The date and time has not been decided yet, however, as Ensane's busy this weekend.)
