The Death of the Hacking Community
Is it the end of hacking as we know it? It all started in October.. When Maple Story videos took over hacking. Everyone started doing Maple animations and then someone uploaded a video on a Maple Story/Hack collab(not naming anyone). I told this person that it will soon be the end of hacking as we know it. Was I right?
A week later, my computer messed up. Soon after that Gold got a girlfriend and got busy with the real world. Eventually things started going downhill. Tyson's computer messing up, Sakura busy with School and Scholarships, Sanna being lazy, and eventually everyone started losing their inspiration to hack. Now there are probably three people still hacking. This time period shall be known as "The Hack Famine" Yeah.. sounds catchy. Now it is up to us to rain on the Hacking Community, and bring it back to life.
I have learned that the source of hacking inspiration is Goldsadventurestorys. Once he started becoming too busy to bother, we just started going downhill. I have been trying to talk him into coming back, and I think he is back. If he can come back, can't we all?
At least make one hack every once in a while, like one every month or so, and that might just keep us going. I will try my best as well! Can we bring the hacking community back to life?

Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
Honestly, I only stopped hacking (for a while) because my computer constantly f**ked up, so I eventually got discouraged to hack (as I lost some of my clips in the process).
I've been thinking about whether to continue hacking or not, and I realized:
"I came on YouTube to start a hack, and I'll continue to hack."
I'll start hacking again, and I hope that everyone else gradually starts to hack again, as well.
Let's bring the community back to life!

Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
Actually, the death of the Hacking Community started more around Youtube's removal of streams and all of its other changes. October was a bad month, but it was nothing compared to that. Think about it... The streams brought old hackers, new hackers and casual users together and brought everyone closer. It even created memes within the community. Heck, even trolls like "Dawn" made the community more fun. The Stream Parties were also a great idea which nobody does anymore even though we have XAT chatrooms. You also have to realize that Hack Series have been around since 2006 and as with the Pokemon Fad of 1998 has died out a little. Although I do agree that we need to revitalize the community somehow.
Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
But 90% of the hacking community did not just stop hacking out of nowhere after the streams were taken away.

Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
I pray that this isn't the end of hacking.
I know I'm lazy, but since my hard drive broke, I've been wanting to hack like crazy (Did my computer plan that? Maybe). When I get my hard drive back, I'm hoping to actually work on vids.
Plus, I get 2 spring breaks and it's close to the end of the school year, so I definitely have time to hack.
And while on the topic of the end of the school year, maybe we'll see more hacks during summer.

Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
I know that personally, since it's my senior year, I've had tons of things to do. Whenever I have time to hack, I don't have motivation and when I do have motivation, I don't have time. The episode just has one more part to it before it's done, but because my project for school needs to be finished soon, I can't work on it. I don't want it to be the end of the community, but everyone's either been really busy or really lazy. And, I wouldn't count on summer for more episodes. We tried that last summer...it was still really slow.

Andrew might be gone.
I rarely talk to him, so IDK. He might just be busy with his novel (I think that's what he's making, it's been awhile since I've seen his update).
Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
we should have a place where us hackers can show our stuff freely like a website we make
we can also help ppl on there have a forum like this and make the community alive again ^^

Maybe we should make our own version of RomHackTube.
That would be awesome!
Where did my edit go?
Anyway, the problem with having our own video site is that their might actually be less members.
I remember getting interested in hacking after I accidentally stumbled onto Sanna's series. Youtube actually helps the community get members.
And as Dako pointed out in the post under mine, there is little money for a youtube like site.

One problem: We're low on funds.

Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
I believe the community is slowly picking up, again.
I've kind of been slacking off, though, even after seeing Gold's movie, Revelations. I feel really guilty about that, but rest assured, I'll try to have my next episode up within THIS WEEK.

This.
I would've hacked a while back... but yeah.
(For those that do not know my situation... GET WITH THE TIMES!)
Re: The Death of the Hacking Community
Personally, i think the only way for the community to live, we have to give the new guys the spotlight....including me. I have been hacking for 5 years, but I'm still learning. If the older hackers would try to get others to watch the new peoples shows, it could probably live a little longer. Guys like Darkneosangel, steelers4190, nomomnomable, Chimchar009, and others...(like me) should be getting passed the torch. That way, they can inspire a new generation, and so on. I remember getting into hacking at 17 and i would watch TrainerDor, Sharkjames, Hackin'John, Sanna and ragingdragonite. I'm sure the new generation did the same.
